1Shame on Panasonic!!  Feb 07, 2010
Yes..this set is awesome...at first. Owners have been reporting on the AVS forum that after a year of use that the black levels are increasings. Well after awhile the reports started to get attention. Panasonic as just released a statement to CNET that yes the black levels will increase based on a use timer inside the set. It will do this in stages...its not a one time thing. Panasonic said this was necessary to prevent color degradation. Note that the low black level was a huge selling point for this set. Well...at least they kept them low enough and long enough for the great reviews. Yes I own this set and I am p'd off

So take comfort..as your blacks turn to grey the colors will still look good

5The BEST picture quality I've ever seen!  Jan 27, 2010
We just moved into a new house and bought this TV. We had it shipped from CA to VA and it was in perfect condition when it arrived. We were a little concerned about having this shipped across country. Well worth it. We are very pleased with this TV. Highly recommend it.

5Love It!  Dec 27, 2009
I bought it 8 months ago. I can't believe the picture and sound. And the size. I am no expert, but I looked at a lot of TVs and read consumer reports. Absolutely enjoy it. I paid 2800 for the 58 inch, it's a lot cheaper now

5Now im happy!  Dec 03, 2009
I've had this set for nearly a year now and i could'nt be more happy with it. The picture quality is outstanding, looks great mounted on my wall, and the price was right. I originally bought a Samsung, 52 inch, 850 series lcd tv which had a very bad clouding issue and also had very weak speakers. I returned it to Amazon and chose this plasma set instead. I tell ya, for those who say plasma tv's are not the way to go anymore are mistaken. The black level's on plasma's are superior to lcd tv's, and in my opinion, they have more of a realistic picture. I am totally satisfied with this tv and im glad i made with switch to plasma. I give it 5 stars.

1Dead Pixels  Oct 15, 2009
Be wary of Panasonic plasma. I had mine under two years and voltage and dead pixels were apparent. They won't offer an extended warranty either because it is over the time limit!

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!

Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)

The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)

"
Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."

Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
