Order cancelled by Home Theater Feb 20, 2010 I had the same experience as the guy from California 'sept that I'm in Connecticut. I ordered a Panasonic TC-p42G15 Feb 5 via Amazon to be shipped from Home Theater Store for the price of $736. Promised to arrive in 5 days. I completed checkout, payed with a credit card, and received a confirmation email from Amazon. This was the lowest price I had found anywhere for this TV, by far. Today I checked to see where my TV was (Feb 19!) and was told they oversold and the TV is not available and was replaced by the Panasonic TC-p42G25, which they would not ship as a substitute without $200-$300 extra. I wasted a lot of time waiting for these guys to ship and eventually they cancelled the order. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM HOME THEATER STORE. THAT'S 2 OF US WHO HAVE BEEN SCREWED BY THEM.

bad seller return policy Feb 18, 2010 I bought this item thru Amazon which farmed it out to an outfit call 6th ave. it arrived on time in seemingly good shape. we waited to try and find an installer before actually opening the box. installers quote cost more than tv so we decided to put it in bedroom rather than mount on wall in living room. the tv has a band approx 2 inches wide from top to bottom on the left side. it is always there on power on, but sometimes goes away.
when contact 6ave for service or return, told tv's bigger than 37" not returnable and later than 30 days anyway. so go away and call panasonic.
i advise anyone to not buy any tv thru amazon or 6ave if this is the service you get.
the non return policy on big screens is particularly disgusting and hidden condition.
if i had known this, the truck would not have left until i had checked tv worked!
i will post another revoew on my experience with panasonic.
BEWARE 6ave - in my opinion they are not a legitimate organization when you hide behind fine print on $1,000 purchases.
Panasonic G15 42'' plasma Feb 14, 2010 Alright..May sound cliched.. but then I did do a fair deal of research before taking the plunge. I spent a lot of time swaying between Plasma and LED, Panasonic and Samsung. So folks here is the thing.. if you are looking for great value for money Panasonic G15 is the way to go. Are there better TVs around..probably -V10, Samsung 8500 series LED, but the cost factor just puts them in altogether a different bracket. And then I prefer the natural colors of Plasma than the high contrast, eye tiring LED/LCD displays where Half an hour into a movie at night time, you feel the need to fiddle with the back-lighting!
So what's good about this TV? well, quite a few things.
-very natural colors,1080p, crystal clear picture.
-guys I didn't find the audio insufficient at all. I actually keep the audio at only 25(which is only 1/4 of the available range!) and it is more than sufficient.
-very quite. no fan noise or any buzzing AT ALL.(reported in Samsung or older versions)
-3 HDMI inputs(enough i guess) and SD card slot. PC input, which works quite well and it is fun having a 42" computer screen.
-the anti reflective screen actually does a pretty decent job at reducing reflection.
-remote is not cluttered and buttons are easy to locate.
-THX mode is excellent and really adds very life like quality to movies.
-looks good too( although I feel probably Samsung is more stylish). G10 has almost the same specs as G15 but has more pronounced silver fade at bottom..did'nt quite agree with me.. and G15 appears slimmer as well.
-Viera cast. especially Amazon Video on demand is a nice feature. You tube feature has some shortcomings such as-you cannot make the video to full screen. 2010 panasonic range would have netflix as well but I assume that will push up the price as well.
As the TV is still in the Break in period(100 hrs), I use custom settings with contrast below 50 and the picture still looks great and is not hard on the eyes.
So all in all, a great buy. I assure you wont be disappointed at all if you go with this one.

Home Theater Store and Amazon are FRAUDS! Feb 06, 2010 I just ordered a Panasonic TC-p42G15 this afternoon via Amazon to be shipped from Home Theater Store for the price of $627. I completed checkout, payed with a credit card, and received a confirmation email from Amazon. This was teh lowest price I had found anywhere for this TV, by far. Now I received an email from Amazon and another form Home Theater Store that my order has been cancelled, with no explanation, and Home Theater Store has begun selling these TVs again on Amazon, most recently at $769. I guess they decided they could get more than they sold it to me for so tehy simply cancelled my order. Shame on you Amazon, for allowing these schlocks on your site. HOME THEATER STORE is A FRAUD - DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT ORDERING THIS FROM THEM!!!!

very good tv...not perfect unfortunately Jan 30, 2010 PROS:
Picture is very clear
Sound is actually quite good (for a small room) if you don't have surround sound system
Installation, set-up, and the remote were ridiculously simple
CONS:
I have to admit that I am a little disappointed that the picture isn't brighter, even in a totally dark room. The brightest setting totally ruins the color. The THX setting is the best out of all of the programmed settings. Perhaps I am biased or unfairly comparing this set's picture quality to my 52" Samsung LCD (LN52A650) or my buddy's Pioneer Kuros Elite 60" plasma....both still have the best pictures I've ever seen
I wish Panasonic included individual R/G/B color settings

Consumer Reports Says: Buy HDTV at Amazon!
Washington, D.C. (October 31, 2008) -- When it comes to price, Consumer Reports says shoppers are most likely to find the best deals online. And the publication called three ecommerce sites "standouts" in this year's Consumer Reports ratings of electronics stores: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com and B&H (bhphotovideo.com)
The magazine's survey was based on more than 38,000 purchases of electronics, including flat-screen TVs, between January 2007 and June 2008. The report indicated that online stores consistently offered better prices. (The magazine's full report can be found in its December 2008 issue.)
"Buying online can be better," the magazine said in a press release. "The higher-rated electronics retailers in Consumer Reports annual reader survey are Web sites. Readers who bought online rated their overall satisfaction at 90 out of 100 -- higher than those who bought in a store. Additionally, many Web merchants offer free shipping, even on TVs, which could spare the hassle of struggling to fit a bulky carton in the car or paying a local store for delivery."
Consumer Reports said that while no single retailer scored excellent in all shopping categories, Amazon.com and Crutchfield.com came closest.
